If elected, are there mandatory dates that I must attend as a newly elected official?

A motion was passed by Council on October 15, 2024 that mandatory Council orientation sessions will be held on October 28 and October 29, 2025 in person, provided by Reynolds Mirth Richards & Farmer LLP.

In-person attendance is mandatory for all newly elected officials to align with the Municipal Government Act (MGA).

It is expected that these days would be full days (both during the day and evening). Further details will be provided at a later date.  Please save these dates in your calendars if you should become elected.
