What we do

Our department is responsible for 2 areas:
-planning & development services;
-legislative services.

Our department includes long-range planning and forecasting, reviewing development permits, safety codes permits, compliance certificate requests, subdivision applications, formulating land use plans and policies and conducting public consultation on proposed land use changes. Planning in the Town of St. Paul (like all Alberta communities) is guided by a number of statutory and non-statutory planning documents.

Our department assists and writes various policies, bylaws, or agreements within the municipality, oversees municipal elections, submits change of address forms to the Land Titles Office, records management, FOIP Requests For Information, Council Committee listing, and organizes Council orientation with the CAO.
